Chikwenya Airstrip

Chikwenya Airstrip is a private safari airstrip in the Mana Pools region of northern Zimbabwe, serving the Chikwenya Camp area on the eastern side of Mana Pools National Park. It provides access to a remote section of the Zambezi Valley and is primarily used by charter and safari aircraft, rather than scheduled commercial flights.



The airstrip is particularly valuable for safari operations because Chikwenya is a remote wilderness area. Guests can fly directly into the area instead of undertaking a long road journey from Harare or other Zimbabwean airports. The surrounding landscape consists of Zambezi floodplains, riverine woodland and open savanna, supporting elephants, buffalo, hippos, crocodiles, lions, wild dogs and abundant birdlife.
